Poem of the Week: “she’s so lucky”

I’m not sure, this may have appeared on this blog before, but I’m too tired at the moment I write this to do a search and find out. First published in Buffalo Bones.
she’s so lucky
by Linda Adams
she’s so lucky
he don’t bring home no liquor
won’t ever bring in no drunkenness
or bring home
no wild women with big
hair
no fights
no meanness no insults
no dead animals dragged in
by the antlers
no greasy motorcycle parts
strung out
all over the bedroom
she’s so lucky
this time
she don’t know why
she’s uneasy
Published in Buffalo Bones, Volume VI #1, Fall 1999, pg. 36
